This year, 2019, marks the 58th anniversary of one of the leading international events on the classical music festival circuit. Since 1961, following an initiative by the English violinist Philip Newman, the Pollença International Music Festival has brought together the world’s finest orchestras, choirs and opera singers.

Now, under the direction of Joan Valent, the festival, which takes place in the cloister of the Convent of Sant Domingo in the Mallorcan town of Pollença, continues to uphold its tradition and aim of presenting music and culture as a key element in building a more inclusive and better society.
With almost 800 world-class artists, this event has been bringing music to life for 58 years now. It has featured performers of various nationalities and styles, including the Soviet Radio Grand Orchestra, the French National Orchestra, Lorin Maazel, Monserrat Caballé and many others with distinguished careers.
The event boasts stage acoustics that would be the envy of any show, and during August it becomes one of the must-see events of the summer season, both for residents and for all those visiting the city of Mallorca.
We invite everyone who wishes to experience music at its finest to the Pollença International Classical Music Festival, starting on Sunday 4 August at the Cloister of Sant Domingo, located at Calle Guillem Cifre de Colonya, 07460 Pollença.
