Chef Javier Muñoz Calero is one of Madrid’s latest culinary sensations; a young Madrid native who now runs NuBel, a fine-dining restaurant located within the Reina Sofía, a museum specialising in 20th-century art.
The dining room is situated beneath a soaring red canopy over a courtyard, which is the defining feature of Jean Nouvel’s 2005 renovation of this historic building. NuBel serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. The interior design alone is reason enough to visit, presented as a tropical landscape with sofas and seating arranged like islands beneath the vibrant red of the overhead canopy.
