Sometimes, looking after our planet seems like a distant goal. At Único Hotels, we have set out to implement a wide-ranging programme of concrete measures designed to minimise our carbon footprint and the impact of our operations. One of these measures, which is of paramount importance to us, is that all the energy we consume comes from 100% renewable sources.
We take care to use natural resources responsibly and minimise our environmental footprint. We are committed to renewable energy and adopt a holistic approach that ensures we adhere to best environmental practices.
We see circularity as an opportunity. To nurture our well-being and pave the way for future generations.
Our Activities
- The solar panels installed at our hotels generate over 600 MWh a year, and all the energy we use comes from 100% renewable sources.
- We promote initiatives aimed at reducing water consumption through systems installed on our hotel premises. We strive to use water efficiently across all our facilities.
- We have a biomass plant that generates energy from natural waste, making use of the by-products produced on our own farm.
- 100% of our bottled water is sourced from water purified directly at our hotels, and we also use reusable glass bottles to reduce our carbon footprint.
- 100% of our hotels have charging points for electric vehicles.
- Wherever possible, we avoid using single-use plastics and packaging; where we do use them, they are recyclable or compostable: we offer environmentally friendly toiletries that contain no petroleum-based ingredients. We use bulk packaging to avoid single-use plastics.

- Our vineyards and orchards are 100% organic, with no chemical treatments.
- 100% LED lighting. Our buildings are fitted with light sensors.
- We support conscious and sustainable brands and products across all our spas, wellness treatments and shops.

This certification is renewed periodically and assesses sustainability across all areas, demonstrating our company’s genuine commitment, engaging our employees and connecting with our customers and partners.
